Study of Chinese Learners' Pedagogical Choices in Korean<br><br>CLKs' understanding and ability to make use of relational affordances, as well as learning-internal factors, were significant. For instance the RIs from TS and ZL both have cited their relationships with their local professors as a significant reason for them to choose to avoid criticising the strictness of a professor (see the example 2).<br><br>This article reviews all local published practical research on Korean up to 2020. Additionally it is also the case that the DCT is prone to bias and could result in overgeneralizations. Therefore, it should be analyzed carefully before using it for research or for assessment purposes.<br><br>Despite its limitations, the DCT can be a useful tool for analyzing the connection between prosody, information structure and non-native speakers. The ability to manipulate social variables relevant to politeness in two or more steps could be a plus. This can assist researchers understand the role of prosody in communication across cultural contexts, which is a major issue in cross-cultural pragmatics.<br><br>In the field of linguistics, the DCT has emerged as one of the most significant tools for analyzing learners' communication behaviors. Their choices were influenced by four factors such as their personality and multilingual identities, their ongoing life experiences and their relationship affordances. These findings have pedagogical implications for L2 Korean assessment.<br><br>The MQ data was analyzed first to identify the participants' choices in practice. The data were classified according to Ishihara's (2010) definition of pragmatic resistance. Then, we compared their choices made by the participants with their linguistic performance on DCTs in order to determine if they are indicative of pragmatic resistance. Interviewees were also required to explain why they chose an atypical behavior in certain situations.<br><br>The findings of the MQs and DCTs were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and Z-tests. It was found that the CLKs often resorted to the use of euphemistic phrases such as "sorry" and "thank you." The coding process was an iterative process in which the coders listened and discussed each transcript. The results of coding were contrasted with the original RI transcripts, which gave an indication of how the RIs were able to capture the fundamental behavior.<br><br>Refusal Interviews (RIs)<br><br>The most important problem in the field of pragmatic research is: Why do certain learners refuse to accept native-speaker norms? A recent study sought to answer this question by employing a variety of research tools, including DCTs, MQs, and RIs. They attributed their resistance to learner-internal factors like their personality and multilingual identities. They also referred to external factors such as relational affordances. They described, for example how their relationships with their professors allowed them to function more easily in terms of the cultural and linguistic norms at their university.<br><br>However, the interviewees also expressed concerns about the social pressures and punishments that they might be subjected to if they strayed from the local social norms. They were worried that their native friends may view them as "foreignersand believe that they are ignorant. This concern was similar in nature to the concerns expressed by Brown (2013) and Ishihara (2009).<br><br>These results suggest that native-speaker practical norms are not the norm for Korean learners. They may still be useful for official Korean proficiency testing. However, it is prudent for future researchers to revisit their usefulness in particular situations and in various cultural contexts.
