Store them high or secure them to stop children from mistakenly identifying the pods for candy. Also, ensure you use a detergent compatible with your type of washer. Be aware that water that is cold especially when it is below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, could not dissolve the pods, causing your machine to get blocked or leave a residue on your fabric.
