Upgrades can boost the performance of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements, and how many random augmentations are applied.

The elite racial Shield Razortail for instance, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption capability in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to reroll an item you have acquired, such as an armor, weapon or rings. The item is replaced by another of the same kind and comes with different bonuses.
