iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session and to move around the room and vacuum a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with vacuums with cords that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. It's not equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation abilities and can better maneuver its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.
