Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several key ways.
