Upgrades to items are an essential element of enhancing your character. Upgrades increase the damage of your item and enhancements.

They also provide rewards and upgrades. The Blacksmith can sell them to you.

The upgrade button is located on any item. Each recycled item adds one level to the upgrade gauge.

Weapons

When a weapon is upgraded, it gets an initial damage bonus as well as a scaling factor which affects other stats. Some upgrade components have cosmetic effects and others provide additional attributes. These upgrades can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools, and trinkets. They generally require that the item has an upgrade slot and meet certain specifications. Once the weapon has reached its maximum level of improvement it can be reforged to add different effects and bonuses or to boost specific stats. These upgrades can all be used simultaneously and the effects differ based on how rare the weapon is.

Two Blacksmiths are able to perform these upgrades in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the kind of damage weapons deal and Somber Smithing Stones to modify standard weapons.

It is generally recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, then armour defense, and then the other secondary stats that are required by your build. It is not uncommon to see melee Druids upgrade their weapons before upgrading other equipment. This will increase DPS. This is particularly true for enchantments that can boost a weapon's stats and damage.

Armor

Item Upgrades allow players to increase the stats of specific weapons, armors trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools. Upgrades to armor may require multiple attempts, depending on the type. If a player wants to upgrade Steelclash armor into Dragonscale, then the first attempt will result in a new Dragonscale armor with an armor base defense of 59-67. The second attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor that has an initial defense of 67-77, and it goes on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To do this players must visit each of the four locations referred to as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each of these locations holds a powerful fairy who can upgrade a piece of armor for the player.

Trinket

A trinket is a small inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. This can be a ring, necklace or even a small flag used to identify a vessel's yard that is lateen. It could also be a reference to a trinket that is gilded on the mast of a ship.

This bizarre trinket seems to be influencing denizens in this maze by making them more common. This trinket at its current level makes all kinds of Xx of mimics more prevalent and gives every floor an Y% chance that it contains an ebony-colored replica. Upgrades to this trinket require an amount of energy.

The magic from the enchanted scepter is believed to be affecting the dungeon itself and making it more likely to generate water and grass. This trinket at the moment will cause X% of the regular floors to be filled with water or grass. It doesn't affect glyphs, enchantments or cursed armor or weapons, or items that are produced to solve danger rooms.

The item level upgrade, which appears like eyes of a newt, seems to affect your vision in a manner that goes beyond simply narrowing your field of vision. At the moment, this trinket boosts the overall health gained from drinking potions of healing, waterskins and wells of health by X% and grants mind eyesight on enemies within Y tiles. This trinket does not stack with the Higher Senses.

Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You can find them after defeating Monsters and in chests and crates. They can't be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

If you find a trinket that needs to be upgraded, place it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will have an effect on the trinket which is random that will either enhance or intensify its effects. You can reuse the Trinket as often as you'd like, but it will always be able to produce a new effect.

You can upgrade your Trinkets at the Alchemy Station by placing them into a Magical Catalyst. This will cost 6 energy, however it will increase the power of the trinkets by a tiny amount.
