Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Upgrade components

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some fundamental ways.
