Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.
