Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will gain 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item level upgrade must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following a reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item Upgrader kit comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback in that the item upgrader mod could increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste many resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This item upgrader kit can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
