Pragmatic Free Trail Meta is an open data platform that enables research into pragmatic trials. Background
Pragmatic studies provide real-world evidence that can be used to make clinical decisions. Methods
In a pragmatic research study the aim is to inform policy or clinical decisions by demonstrating how an intervention can be integrated into routine care in real-world situations. This distinction in the main analysis domain could be explained by the fact that the majority of pragmatic trials analyse their data in the intention to treat manner while some explanation trials do not. The overall score was lower for systematic reviews that were pragmatic when the domains of the organization, flexibility of delivery and follow-up were combined.
It is important to remember that a pragmatic study does not necessarily mean a low-quality study.
