World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

The ability to upgrade armor items to boost their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circular arrows within the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has the more value you can get from every point of health you possess therefore it is important to upgrade your armor as much as possible.

To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to let you sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. For example the splash potions now have the duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornamental item upgrader mod that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't essential such as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade item vendor. Unlike other item upgrader kit upgrades trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. One can upgrade a trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are not needed, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players must also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade items bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing a new one.
