Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the element or material required to make that happen.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the item upgrade's name. For example adding a Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from earlier versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
When an item is leveled out in this way, it is capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will increase its features. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item upgrader and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item fails to reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.
To determine the height of a structure engineers use a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to the highest degree of precision and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item upgrader's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game, and it can increase the strength, damage, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in very rare instances.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or bad thing depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded item upgrader kit may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also includes number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character faster, allowing you to progress in the game and reach higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
