The 10 Most Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the necessary component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the names of items. For example, adding a Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several items.
When an item is leveled out in this way, it is able to receive a new set of upgrade components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it will reset to zero after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For instance, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers will use a level in order to measure the height of the building against a known point, like the benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original Best item upgrader or a similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade items gauge is filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or bad thing dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.
The game also comes with number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending lots of money.
Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own lots of armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to the level of the levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can improve their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will provide a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
