1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and operates while you are at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad for a dry one in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also has strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the Best robot vacuum uk robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

The flex arm can be used to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and auto vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competitors. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuums with mop we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and look better. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient, but it will cost you more and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end Best robot vacuum uk vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.

This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. Additionally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also grants access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
