Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more valuable in early game runs than in later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally, certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be costly and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each Best item upgrade has an initial success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
