Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item upgrade and the current item upgrade level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves.
