WoW Upgrades - The item level Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item level upgrade that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item upgrade and the current item upgrade level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items come from a different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be used on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
