Upgrades to gear increase its base stats and sometimes increases its other features. The value of these upgrades is determined by the gear's tiers, their requirements, and the number of random augmentations can be applied.

For instance, the top racial shield Razortail is commonly upgraded for its lightning absorb capability in PvP or to provide additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an acquired item like armor, weapon, or ring. The item is replaced by an identical item, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective method to upgrade equipment. However, they don't keep the quality of the original item and any resources that are wasted aren't refunded.

Reroll tokens can be obtained by survivors through several means, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in chests and crates or purchase them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute on a piece of equipment, such as increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.

Players can roll equipment with three categories: physical power, spell power and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage done by weapons and melee attacks while spell power upgrades mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.

Three types of rerolls tokens are available such as upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a higher quality. To create them, you'll need a higher level token for rerolling. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require an item that is either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

Blueprints are envelopes that show up at the start of every preparation phase. They can be opened using Interact by grasping them. Some items benefit from being upgraded less because of their improved stats and more for the fact that it allows players to get the most value from a perfect roll on the item. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example is highly sought-after by melee PvP communities and can be worth as much as 20-50 times the value of an unupp'd counterpart.

If you choose an upgrade component to slot into an item the game will display a pop-up window that shows the necessary requirements. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item upgrader mod.

If you've fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade the game will put the item in your inventory, and the progress bar will change to show how close you are to completing it. You can also check on the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC who upgrades items.
