Upgrades can sometimes increase the performance of a piece of gear and sometimes even its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by the gear's tiers, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied.

The racial Shield elite Razortail, for example, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption function in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable over the unupgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens are a way to reroll a purchased item level upgrade, such as armor, weapon or ring. This allows you to swap the item for a different one similar item and comes with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an efficient method of upgrading equipment. However, they do not retain the quality of the original item and any resources wasted will not be refunded.

The survivors can acquire reroll tokens through several means such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in crates and chests or bought from the store for 150k each. Reroll tokens are used to alter the attributes of an item such as increasing its damage.

Players can roll their equipment using three attributes that include physical power, magical power, and health. Upgrades to physical power increase the damage caused by weapons and melee attack, while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and the ring. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.

Three types of reroll tokens are available such as upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher-quality, with the requirement of a higher-quality reroll token order to create it. Upgrades with enhanced capabilities require a common item, while rare upgrades require a unique or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
