Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item level upgrade upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of additional damage and more AD or even more affixes.

Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item upgrader mod that they are connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to salvage upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage that an armored piece or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to be heavier than it was before.

There are a variety of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different effect. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges for use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades are updated daily or never expire dependent on the upgrade.

The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be obtained by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more costly, but is readily available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant improvement in stats and are a worthwhile cost, especially for single-handed weapons.

The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it will also affect its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained usually isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Certain firearms also have upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).

Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. These are obtained through either doing side quests, or killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a set number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be less.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. In the past, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.

It's possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. It is better to purchase gear that has low upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. They will also be able to give you the most prestigious bonuses and blessings.

Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they are most likely to use to make sure they are able to level up faster. In addition to these players, they should think about upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to increase their power as well. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to improve the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method of making them, where you combine gemstones with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gemstone, the better its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The quality of a diamond can be improved at the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.

All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain the privilege of having them. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the gem only once in a piece of equipment.

The use of more jewels in a movement will make it more smooth, and is often performed for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades additionally, players can obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide an array of tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and evasion. After that, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player can acquire weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets also provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the character is not fighting. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active and also helps to compensate for the absence of a solid team or the absence of any slots from the talent tree that normally are filled with hero's ideal statistics.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item upgrader that is being upgraded. This is true especially if you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item upgrader. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.

At the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket to a red in the middle and top players typically choose a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.

In addition to the items listed above, players may also find other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story, like the main quest of a chapter or killing a certain boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
