Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A grey or white item upgrader mod, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Another way to change the stats of an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to be kept on an Best item upgrade after it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more useful in the initial game run than later ones as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by 5%. These items can be purchased at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has a success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
