Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide To Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Best item upgrade upgrades - hop over to this site - are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of damage and more AD or even more affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is often superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They improve the effectiveness of the item upgrade they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kits to salvage upgrade components from items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will absorb. Upgrading a piece of armor to maximum upgrade level will boost its damage absorption. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.
There are several types of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. Some upgrades give armor an additional number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can receive, as shown below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require a charge to use, which is shown by an "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be gathered through exploring the surroundings and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost in stats, and are worth the cost.
The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it will also decrease the speed and agility of the piece. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces above +9, because the increase in defense is generally not worth the additional weight and power cost of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of a weapon. For example an upgrade could increase the damage dealt by shotgun shells or the accuracy of the sniper rifle. Certain firearms have enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces weapon overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration to cause more damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a set number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. In the past you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher rarity. You could do this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, after which the upgrades would be reset.
It's possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear that has low upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a better likelihood of granting you highest tier benefits and blessings.
The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they use most frequently to help them level up faster. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to increase its utility when accompanied by experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve a stat or provide secondary effects in armor and weapons. Jewelry crafting is a method for creating them. You combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the gem, the better its secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can improve the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the tier of the gem it will give different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
The Jeweler can craft all kinds of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones, which you must attain a certain level to get. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with a identical jewel without damaging the original one. However you can only swap out the jewels in an equipment piece once.
It is normal to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and create a harder surface than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
In addition to the above upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost in power and can be traded, but they are not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be retrieved with an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with many small, but useful, benefits. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through doing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak, which gives a small but useful bonus to movement speed and evasion. Then, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player can acquire weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be put into any type of equipment, while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero is not in combat. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It also helps compensate for the lack of a strong team or talent tree slots which would normally be filled by the hero's Best item upgrader stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, since it's generally more beneficial to upgrade one crucial stat than two subpar ones.
At the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket into a red one, while top and mid players will usually opt for the pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.
Aside from the items listed above, players may also discover a variety of other trinkets in the game in the form of trophies and awards. They can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. You can check them out by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
