9 Things Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade item of an item can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all its upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.
Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item level.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.
There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, as the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher value.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.
Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes could do things like give the item extra damage, or add a unique ability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.
All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat or reroll affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat in the range, unless they are a unique item or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. But as with base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in the initial game run than later ones since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances that increase with each new level of item. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item upgrader kit's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it does not work.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The Luck of an item can also influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (advice here) CORE client config.
