World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats improve in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to an lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the level of an item. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it's capable of dealing with. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a vendor.

On your PC, you can see the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated using an equation that determines how valuable an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl because the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Upgrader Kit Stats

The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification which are then enhanced by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats of the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.

At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item upgrading when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade item equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to boost. Like the base equipment, this would have to be done per item level upgrade, and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in early game runs since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item upgrader mod. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) for a further +40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Furthermore there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Every item has a success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
