Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. The amount of bonus varies depending on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them, or through an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed by removing them from an item.

The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level or experience gained from upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be forged for additional benefits. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the upgrade chances of its target, and boost upgrades increase the defense or attack capabilities of a weapon.

By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. Alternatively, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item upgrades will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components have a a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. You should upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, then switch to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier for experience Each item also comes with a maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade they can receive. For instance, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most common upgrades for weapons are a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at minimum once. The upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. The first time you upgrade a set piece or weapon is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased a bit further (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item it will have one of its additional stats will be increased randomly.

Upgrades to a weapon may increase its damage base, which may be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to a higher defense level than their normal base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they may not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.

If the item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once and its guarantee will be reset to zero. The same power dies are used to roll an item upgrader as it is used to increase its level. However the new item comes with different bonuses. Upgrades can be made by visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time, using the same materials as original item.

Rerolling

A player can play rerolling any item that they acquire during the game, provided they have enough tokens to be able to do so. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced by an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens can be bought from the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they are not refundable. The new item will come with the same bonus features like the first, however the statistics will also differ.

Players can change the identification of their equipment as well as rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification as a weapon to armor, or reverse the process. The base stats and requirements remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters that own the gear.

The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipment equipped. This is accomplished by talking to an upgrader NPC and obtaining Upgrade item components. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones dependent on the upgrade track and the item level upgrade type. For weapons, each step up will add an additional five percent to the damage.

Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, but they also can decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. For example one player might decide to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to see what it can be.

The primary reason why people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to acquire a certain character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. Getting these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods don't always want to play ball. The only options are to spend real cash or grind lots. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe this feature was designed to increase the value of expensive and rare items. However, as most items are replaced quite quickly, and it can only be upgraded one level, you will usually replace it before it is too old. It's also not worthwhile to upgrade items with gem sockets as the power of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template of the item as well as the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the item level. Weapons and armor will have different prices, with the latter typically being more costly. The upgrade template shows the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage for lvl. For instance, an upgrade of 8% can reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8%.

In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block and parry rating. The increases are also built on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can determine the amount of damage or defense that the item upgrades will be able to sustain after it is leveled up. This is shown below the cost and the upgrade percentages. Apart from the equipment for practice, all armor and weapons gain these same stats when upgraded. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other armor pieces such as circlets or Tiaras.
