Are You Getting The Most Of Your Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the Item level upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrade that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgrader mod upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require various methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once an item upgrading is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
