Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide On Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrade Upgrades
Item upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of extra damage or more AD or even more affixes.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item upgrade they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged using a professional or higher salvage kit to recover upgrades from the items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will boost its damage absorption. But, it's important to note that this will also raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than before.
There are several different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each has a different impact. For example, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it lighter and stronger. The type of armor upgrade that an item upgrading will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.
A few of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges in order to be used. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades are updated every day or never expire, dependent on the upgrade.
The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the environment and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant increases in stats and are well worth the cost.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also decrease its agility and speed. This is why it is generally not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces that are higher than +9 because the increase in defense is typically not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example, an upgrade may improve the damage that is caused by shotgun shells or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Certain firearms have upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. These are obtained through either finishing side quests, killing a certain number of monsters or bosses, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific number of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade the more advanced the level. The cost of upgrading will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could do this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for your weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would reset.
It's possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels, but good base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a greater likelihood of granting you highest tier advantages and benefits.
Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they use most frequently to help them level up quicker. Additionally players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will make it more useful when accompanied by biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to increase the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method of creating them. You combine gemstones with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the quality of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a diamond can be improved by the Jeweler, in stages that range from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts can vary depending on the tier the jewel is in when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.
All kinds of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to obtain them. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out with another identical jewel without damaging it. You can only replace the jewel once in an item upgrader of equipment.
The use of more jewels in a move can make it feel more comfortable and is usually performed for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, so repeated friction from pivots won't cause damage as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also get glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be traded, but they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs are also removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like aegis and traits, cannot be swapped out, and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are pieces of equipment that bestow many small but useful advantages to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can also be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket players can unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but beneficial boost in movement speed and the ability to evade. Then, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player acquires armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded, and only works with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that remain active whenever the hero is not in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective when not active, and can also help make up for a lack of a strong team or the absence of any talent tree slots which would normally be filled with the hero's ideal statistics.
As a rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace in the near future. Also, consider items with desirable stats that aren't as important as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true if you want to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one prior to the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand they will select a green or a pink ward, depending on the matchup. These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets in the form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story, like the main quest of a chapter or killing a certain boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
