World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. This is the sum of all the upgraded perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it is able to deal. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done by using the item upgrader mod's level.

On your PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and that sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is typically close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, because the level of the region the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for instance by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item upgrading can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting an exclusive name to the item upgrader mod.

Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. But, like base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item level upgrade) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item upgrader mod, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%..

The success of an item upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. All items have a base success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (just click the up coming document) CORE client config.
