A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

This is the double stroller that you need If you're looking for a light stroller that is easy to push with one hand. It's also easy to transport up and down the stairs.

It features a pair of fixed seats that can provide the possibility of up to 30 seating configurations (including a triple!). Both seats are UPF 50+ canopies with windows that can be seen from a distance.

Size

The Joovy Kooper X2 double stroller with infant car seat stroller is a side by side double stroller. It can accommodate two children up to 50lbs. The seats are larger bigger than those of other strollers double strollers with lightweight designs and the canopy comes with large SPF 50 sunshades that have windows that are peekaboo. Other features that are important include cup holders for one parent and an enormous, self-standing basket that can accommodate up to 25 pounds; swing-away bar for children to climb out and in their seats and the wheels can be locked with swivels for better manoeuvrability on tough terrain. It is a great option for suburban and urban families. It also comes with a double kit that includes the newborn's wedgie to ensure the perfect lie-flat position.

Weight

The weight of a double buggies will determine the ease of pushing. Typically, a light buggy will be more easy to lift and carry, but may not have as much suspension to handle bumps and uneven terrain.

The majority of double buggies have a maximum weight per seat, and some have overall frame maximums, so it's important to verify the specifications of each model prior to you purchase. Some models fold with seats removed, making them lighter and more compact, which can be useful when storage space is at a premium.

Tri-fold doubles are usually the lightest models, as they only require a single hand to lift the top and bottom sections. They are also smaller than side-by-side buggies, making them a good choice for fitting through doors. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold double is one of lighter models available. It is able to comfortably accommodate twins or a toddler baby.

Tandem buggies are perfect for families with growing children because they begin as a single stroller and can be adapted to accommodate a second seat, car seat or carrycot. Some models, such as the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating configurations, meaning they can grow with your family to accommodate the age of a third child. These doubles are heavier than trifolds, however, because the weight is evenly distributed, they are much easier to maneuver.

Folding

The best double buggies for small spaces fold up easily, in a matter of minutes. Our Lab experts appreciate this feature because it lets them fit the buggies into the back of their cars and save storage space when not in use. The Joovy Kooper X2 for example includes straps that can be pulled up on the seats and the entire thing folds down. Even our oldest testers were able to do the tri-fold with only one hand.

The lightweight Delta Children LX side by side is another great choice for a Stokke Double Stroller buggie. Its light weight is a plus but so are the features it has large pop-out canopy which include SPF 50 protection and a the peek-a-boo window; swing-away bars to help children get into and out of seats and reclining chair and leg rests for young children.

Manoeuvrability

When choosing a small double buggy from birth stroller, it is important to consider its maneuverability. This includes the ease for both children to be able to ride in the buggy. Some pushchairs, such as the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are better at this than other models.

This is where narrow tandem buggies as well as side-by-side designs can come in useful. These buggies can be a little longer and could be difficult to maneuver through doors.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example of this as it's a relatively narrow pushchair that still allows for two seats to be added, and - importantly - an 'piggyback'-style board that can be used to carry the third child.

Other smaller, three-wheeled models like the phil&teds dot are extremely agile, particularly with its clever 'dot kits that transforms it into an inline buggy. It comes with two seating arrangements for children of various age groups, and the front seat can be turned so that it faces parents to provide more intimate bonding. It comes with an ample storage basket and is easy to fold. This is a great solution for families that are growing.

Comfort

With narrow tandem strollers or flexible side-by-side buggies parents can keep an eye on both kids at the park, at the grocery store or wherever else. These lightweight doubles can accommodate two children up to 50 lbs each. They also come with pop-out canopy that can be extended enough to provide real shade. They also come with reversible seatback cup holders and one cup holder for parents, plus a large underseat basket.

If you're starting out with a growing family, add the phil&teds double running buggy kit to your dot buggy to turn it into an inline double jogging stroller ideal for toddlers and infants alike. The clever 3-wheel design makes for easy kerb popping and superior maneuverability, while the sling seat offers a great option for newborns to bond with their parents. When your little ones become older you can simply change the sling out for an infant car seat adapter and you're set to go. You're ready to go on your next adventure with deluxe travel bag and rain cover!
