Robot vacuums and mop are getting more powerful. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can handle various floors. Find models that let you choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging docks to self-empty and clean up the stairs.
A lot of the top models work with your smartphone. Find an application that lets you save maps, schedules and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and alter the behavior of the S1.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which comprises linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms and a medium-pile and a large rug. It easily drove close to walls without colliding with them, and even managed to traverse raised room thresholds with no problem, but it sometimes struggled to get down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a fantastic job of cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.
Before each mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and fills up its water tank onboard with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1's water tank holds enough for about a dozen cleaning sessions before it has to be empty, but this will vary depending on how often you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like any other 2-in-1 robots. It is necessary to regularly wash out the dirty tank to prevent it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to avoid them getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially when compared to other models that require more hands-on maintenance.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs All-in-one robot cleaner with mop vacuum and mop is an effective solution to your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction and offers many innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that eliminates obstacles and cleans around furniture. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it instead of simply drag a pad across a surface. Mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station when needed.
This robot hoover combo has an easy-to-use interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are also two water tanks that are automatically filled or empty. It also has a number of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that effortlessly picks up all kinds of debris, including the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it could get stuck on small mats and rugs at my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping feature is pretty excellent, too, with two spinning mop pads that actually lift and scrub the floors, instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station as required. The mops are also filled at the top of the station when required.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new top-of-the-line robot vacuums with mop mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results and is simple to maintain. This makes it a top contender on our list of the best mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is achieved.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests well, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping power is enhanced by an additional side brush that automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, as well as an extended mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is smart, navigating narrow spaces and climbing stairs without skipping a beat. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction, which is a handy feature for homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a large margin between obstacles. This can lead to missing spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and streamlined. It should be easy to use for novice and experienced users. The app allows you to plan and manage cleanings, adjust the suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and more. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for live video surveillance. You'll require a stable internet connection to access the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of picking up dirt and debris however, it's not able to get every last piece of dust. It's important to vacuum often, at least once a week. This is especially true for dust that collects in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot that was designed to accomplish exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network, and integrates with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your routine of cleaning.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the company's more expensive S-series models. It includes the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on cost by removing the mopping functionality and by using a cheaper plastic body.
The Q5 is still one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping robots we've seen at this price, despite not being able to clean your floors. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin by hand each time. It also comes with a smart application that lets you choose your floor's type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops are also awe-inspiring, with 2700Pa of power to tackle dirt, dust, and pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 was one of the few robots that we tested to not have problems with high-pile carpets and rugs. However, it was able to not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising as it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle-avoidance features.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robot vacuums we have tested, it also uses a unique system to map your home, which will allow it to enter the corners and tight spaces that other vacuums are unable to reach. It also has the larger bin, meaning that you don't need to empty it as frequently. It also has washable filters that further lower the expenses associated with using the device. This robot can also detect carpets and increase suction when needed. The app also lets you to mark off areas that you want it to avoid this is a useful feature.
