Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and weapons. They can be used to add an additional benefit or impact while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors or players, looted or obtained as rewards, or constructed with crafting materials. Upgrade items can be cosmetic effects, in addition to giving bonus attributes.
Infusions, inscriptions and enhancements are a type of upgrade components. They aren't generally available for general use and are only available on equipment that is ascended or on certain weapons that are not ascending from the Factions Campaign. Infusions, inscriptions, and enrichments can be recovered from equipment by using an Infusion Extraction Device. They can also be salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Unlike other upgrade items Phoenix Boxes, unlike other upgrade items, can be traded even while still attached to the item they are upgrading, and they can be re-used after being reclaimed. These upgrade items can be used to improve the quality of armor and weapon without spending Dilithium. They can double the likelihood that an item will be upgraded to a top quality upgrade.
Upgrade components can be added to an item, but the previous one is destroyed (except for legendaries and ascended equipment). Only upgraded items that have an identification level of 0 or greater can be upgraded with upgrade components incorporated into them. When you upgrade an item that is already equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the resulting Best item upgrade as it appears in the game (for example, adding a Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can have up to 3 upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a great addition to any item. They provide unique advantages and boosts. Some glyphs can also increase the number of affixes attached to an item, increasing its overall strength. These glyphs are acquired through working through dungeons. They can also be found in specific World Tier 3 zones. It is important to note that glyphs are only available to players who have created a dungeon that has the same depth.
To use a Glyph it is necessary to create it using components and connect them to anchors. Then, the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't wish to build the glyph from components, you can build it by combining paths and anchors. Drag an element in close proximity to a highlighted component to lock it in place.
Certain glyphs require certain requirements to be fulfilled, such as 25 Dexterity in a particular area on the Paragon Board. Some require a specific number of Primary Stat nodes to be activated and can be a challenge to attain. Certain glyphs also have a radius, which increases as you level it up.
Glyphs are used for a wide variety of items and can be added to all weapons, with the exception for the weapons of a particular class. Some of these glyphs also require conditions for example, like having a certain amount of damage from Dexterity or Attack in a specific location on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph gives you the chance to block enemy attacks. It also has the chance of 15% to render the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs can also be applied to restricted use tools, like the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. Adding these glyphs will be counted towards the Combat Mechanic achievement.
The most commonly used glyphs are the attack glyphs, which increase the ATK substats of Artifacts with a flat value. These glyphs are particularly useful for classes that use ranged weapons, such as Warriors or Rogues. The Exploit Glyph can make enemies who hit the Hero vulnerable to damaging effects.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are special tokens that can be used to reroll the results that are rolled when taking an Action. They are discarded when the reroll occurs. Reroll tokens are available in many ways, such as through dungeons and raids, or through participating in skirmishes. They can also be purchased at the store or purchased from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons and trials because they let players play a reroll of rewards of the final chest.
The values for recycling points are provided for items that are at level 1. When an item is recycled, it will add a specific number of points to the gauge for upgrading. This value is based on both the item's rarity and level. Additionally the upgraded item won't retain its level when rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item rises depending on its level.
The player may also use reroll tokens to reroll an item. However it will not restore the item's original stats, or level. This is useful for players who want to reroll an item they don't like but still want to keep it in their collection.
Three different kinds of upgrade coins are available in the game - reroll, randomly generated, and upgrade. Each type has a few subtypes. Reroll tokens for instance come in three categories of rarity: legendary, rare and enhanced. Each level requires an item upgrader kit from the respective level to make the new item upgrader mod of that level.
To make use of reroll tokens click on the Satanic or Angelic item in inventory and select "Reroll Token". Select the type of token you want to use. The tokens available include Item, Weapon, Misc, 1hgun, 2hgun and Focus. The Item token can be used to create an Item in any quality. A Weapon or Misc token can create a new weapon from the same faction.
There is also a possibility that the item could be upgraded to a new item with a higher level and the same extra stats. This will happen if the item level upgrade has been placed in the Pool that is not droppable, or if it was transferred to the pool as part of a franchise card.
