World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item upgrades level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

In the endgame you'll find that the Best item upgrade way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful, but shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item can be very valuable in PvP as an Best item upgrade that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an Item upgrader [www.Northwestu.edu] NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
