Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also a bit costly, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however it will cost you more and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its top rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on how dirty they tend to be.

This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. Finally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
