Costs
There are some costs associated with item upgrades. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost can be expensive and depends on the new value of the item and the number perks it gains. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.
The second is the price of the materials required to upgrade. These items are usually Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. These materials can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.
Upgrades to an item upgrade are a complex process that requires time. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. The base stats of the upgraded item are calculated based upon its new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines the latest Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important statistics. In some instances, an upgrade can grant additional benefits. These perks are available in a list.
Rarely, the new advantages obtained will cost more than one perk slot In these instances, the upgrade will only replace the most expensive perks. The upgrader may also make other adjustments to the item, for example, changing the type of damage it deals to its weapon or eliminating an operational or unwieldy function. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl, and may require special materials, such as the adamantine.
Success Rate
Item upgrades are based on an opportunity, and like every random system, there's a chance that the upgrade won't succeed. However there are some things which can improve the chance of success. There are a variety of items available in the Kafra shop that can be used to improve the likelihood of a successful upgrade. For example, upgrading a piece of equipment with HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will provide you with a higher chance of success. The chance of success will be enhanced if you boost the chance of getting a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.
Failure Rate
