The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are a plus.

Make sure you regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large debris, and wash them when needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

This top-performing combination vacuum and mop utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it will learn the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different flooring types including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored a perfect 10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.

For larger houses it's worth looking for a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot vacuums with mop to clean one specific area of your home via the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create an automatic vacuum and mop spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app also grants access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have examined. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
