WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade items boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item Level upgrade (www.google.Pl) upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will cost less, even when they belong to another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type or gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one use and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
