The 10 Scariest Things About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one go, without having to switch between devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good robot vacuum combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot vacuum cleaner best I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 robot best automatic vacuum cleaner cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you when it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It has a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other best robot vacuum that mops mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
