The upgrade of gear can increase its base stats, and sometimes increases its other features. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the number of random augmentations used.

The racial Shield elite Razortail, for example, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capability in PvP and/or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more marketable than the perfect non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens let you roll a purchased item like armor, weapon, or ring. The item is replaced with an identical item, but with different bonuses. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective method of upgrading gear. They don't preserve the original item's level and any wasted resources will not be refunded.

Survivors may acquire reroll tokens through several means like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be found in crates and chests or purchased from the market for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter the attributes of a piece equipment for example, increasing its damage.

Players can reroll equipment in three attributes, physical power, spell power and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase damage from weapons and melee attack while upgrades to spell power boost mage attacks and ring. Health upgrades give the player additional health.

There are three types of reroll tokens: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a higher quality. To produce them, you require an upgrade level reroll token. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.

The reroll marker, unlike other markers or tokens that are placed on action spaces stays on the spot until the next Success is being rerolled. This allows you to avoid wasting upgrades.

Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Phase, and can be opened by grabbing them with Interact. After choosing the item to upgrade, the player has to select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. Once the player has met the requirements, they can hit the upgrade button and apply the Growth Stones. This will increase the item's level by a specific percentage. Depending on the rarity of the item and rarity, the upgrade process could take anywhere from seconds to minutes.

The upgrade process is also safe and doesn't impact the item's durability. This makes it an ideal way for players to get an advantage in battle without putting a strain on their bank account.
