World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increase when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items from a vendor's stock is possible using the level of the item.

On PC, you are able to view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, because the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are an item that is unique, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to enhance. Similar to the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items, Highly recommended Site,. It simply gives players the chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than later ones because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Additionally some items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
