9 Lessons Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.
It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
When deciding to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. The level of an item can be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.
The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are various theories on how the item level calculation is made. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that determines the value of an item upgrader mod's stats are worth. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
It's not the only thing that affects the value of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
Another way to change the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. Affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or add a unique ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item upgrader mod.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other rerolling methods.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's a unique item or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis and the interface for comparing items wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item upgrader kit discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial for early game runs, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The luck of an Best item upgrade may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader, Recommended Resource site, CORE client config.
