WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current item level upgrade (pop over to this site) level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain item upgrader kit level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will cost less, even if they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
