World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The Upgrade Item of an item can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increase when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced to allow the item upgrader mod to get upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a measure of the item's damage and its quality. The level of the item upgrade can be used to evaluate items when examining a vendor's inventory.

On your PC, you can check the level of the item upgrade using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full item description, including its value. It can also be located by hovering over an Best item upgrade with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are many theories about how the item level is calculated. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated by an equation that determines the worth of the stats of an item level upgrade really are. It takes into account the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzard's real item level.

It's not the only factor that affects the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.

Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to differentiate them by adding a name.

Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other methods of rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item by a specific stat or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it's an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Additionally, certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The success of an item can be affected by the Luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases that chance by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
