Study of Chinese Learners' Pedagogical Choices in Korean

In the field of linguistics the DCT is now one of the most significant tools for analyzing learners' behavior in communication. It can be used to analyze numerous issues, like politeness, turn-taking, and lexical choices. It can be used to determine phonological complexity in learners speaking.

The findings of the MQs and DCTs were then analysed using descriptive statistics and Z-tests. The CLKs were found employ euphemistic phrases such as "sorry" or "thank you". The RIs were recorded and transcribing, and then coded by two coders from different companies. The coding process was iterative and involved the coders reading and discussing each transcript. The results of coding are evaluated against the original RI transcripts to determine if they captured the underlying pragmatic behavior.

Refusal Interviews

The central question in pragmatic research is: Why do certain learners refuse to accept native-speaker norms? A recent study sought to answer this question employing a range of experimental tools, such as DCTs, MQs and RIs. Participants comprised 46 CLKs and 44 CNSs from five Korean Universities. These results suggest that native-speaker pragmatic norms are no longer the preferred choice of Korean learners. They may still be a useful model for official Korean proficiency tests. This will help them better understand how different cultural environments could affect the practical behavior of L2 students in the classroom and beyond.
