WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher Item Level Upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will show a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade items their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
