Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. This is the sum of all its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Item Stats

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to boost. Like base equipment, it must be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Best item upgrader Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) for a further +40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item upgrading if it is not successful.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
