World of Warcraft item upgrades (This Internet page)

Item upgrades provide players with the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.

Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and add extras depending on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for casting builds.

Armour

Link's armor is a crucial element in keeping him safe from danger. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in various ways to improve its defence capabilities.

The basic idea of armour is to protect animals or people from physical harm or injury whether from physical attack or a range of environmental and activity hazards. Historically, armour was mostly made of leather or fabric, but later metal protections were used as well, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.

As with weapons there are a variety of ways in which armour can be upgraded, but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, but require a higher price in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.

The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades and once they've been applied they cannot be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. You should only apply most advanced upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the materials required to complete them.

When it comes to acquiring the necessary upgrade components you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule including shrines, shops as well as enemies. They are typically marked with an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol and can be found in great numbers as you progress through. They could appear randomly, but there is a possibility that getting certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.

It's also worth noting that although the level of protection offered by each upgrade differs but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armour will provide you with a substantial defense boost that will protect you from all forms of attacks, except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.

Weapons

If you'd like to make your guns truly unique, you can upgrade them with a variety of special upgrades. These can increase damage, change the weapon's stats so that they are suited to your build and even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types and other options for aesthetics.

To upgrade a weapon you'll need to have an upgrade component in place and the item itself. The weapon must also be above a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons only take one upgrade at one time.

There are weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and even from the hands of enemies and can be bought from a merchant. Upgrade components are made up of components that you can incorporate into armors, weapons trinkets, tools for gathering and other items in order to gain an attribute bonus. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.

Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the stats of weapons and increase their scaling with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.

There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade those that you won't replace soon. If you're playing an asymmetrical build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your chest and shoulders before your hands and feet. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is not any different, with some Reforges being better than others.

Magic Items

A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at one time. If an upgrade project is canceled and the next upgrade item for that item will not begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but can offer other benefits.

A magical item could be any item upgrader kit that has special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but there are some that are also shields, armor and cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other items. Some of these items may be converted into a sentient.

Most magic items can be enhanced in their abilities. This can make them more useful to a player, or it could help them conquer a particularly challenging encounter. An infused weapon might provide bonus damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is particularly useful for those who have reached the level where they're likely to encounter a particular type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.

A ring that is infused can grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a lengthy rest. This is particularly useful for melee martial characters or anyone looking to stay clear of buying a shield.

Some enchanted objects have special powers that allow the character to cast spells that aren't on their list of classes. This is useful for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted items typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling a table determined by the number of Intelligence points spent.

Other items that are enchanted can allow the player to change their appearance, or even create a new appearance. These are particularly beneficial for characters who have had to leave their home, or are in a place that they aren't welcome. A magical item upgrader kit can provide them with invisibility or make them invisible for anyone, excluding the person they choose to.

Utility Items

Utility items are products that do not fall under the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and have various capabilities. Utility items aren't compatible with each other, unlike Armor or Weapons. Most utility items provide an effect that the player can activate by using them however, some come with additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses a button or activates an ability.

Generally, the most common type of utility item upgrading is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. A variety of utility items can be instantly created in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.

Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those available in their regular inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded to allow more efficient use.

Most utility items increase the combat ability of a particular character or give the player some sort of advantage in navigation. For instance, sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power and Maintenance Oils made by the Huntsman improve Concentration and Healing Power. Other items of utility, such as Writs and Theses created by the Scribe can be utilized to give the player an increase in damage or condition damage.

XCOM soldiers can equip a single accessory item to start the campaign. An additional slot is available after the completion of certain research, engineering or experiments on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots are available by equipping a Grenade Launcher. This allows players to utilize a Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
