Item upgrading is a key element to maximize the potential of your gear. It allows you to add extra bonus stats over the value of your basic item.

Each upgrade template comes with a set of options which can be configured by using the edition GUI. These options include upgrading reference and chances of upgrading.

Upgrade components

As part of the 2.0 update the method of upgrading weapons and armor in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components can be found all over Night City, and the item you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot. There are two types of upgrade components: universal upgrades and gems. Upgrades can be removed and replaced with new ones in the slot of the weapon. However it will destroy any prior upgrades.
