WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The Best item upgrader upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will show a preview of the item level Upgrade when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less even in the event that they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
