The 10 Most Terrifying Things About Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item upgrade it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a significant risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the upgrade item Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
In the final game you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
The use of a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player improves the equipment they have it is replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not need it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely important in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
item upgrades upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an item it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go to its initial state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the Best item upgrade will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item upgrader mod is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items might require different upgrades than normal equipment. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
