Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the element or material required to complete the upgrade.

There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item upgrader they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of these items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For instance, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials however it will have less chance of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers employ a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrade. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in very rare instances.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.

Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes that made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on a unit. This is a great method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character quicker, which enables you to advance in the game and attain higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have no elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense values and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.

Set items can be upgraded to include special procs that are useful for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item upgrade will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant increase in their power. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
