Path of Exile Item Upgrading

item upgrading (read on) allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from missions and chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade items components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of item names. For example, adding a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will increase its features. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not attain its maximum level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will employ an instrument to compare the measurement with a known reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to the highest degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the Best item upgrader menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or a negative thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can have various sizes, have no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They also aid in analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

There are many set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the item's stats much in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have a lot of weapons or armor pieces already.

Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the levels. For example the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the character screen. This will display the item's features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
